Title: Maybe. Never.
Fandom: Supernatural
Rating: G
Category: Gen (little bit of Het)
Characters/Pairings: Dean Winchester (wistful Dean/Jo)
Disclaimer: If I had anything to do with SPN that involved me knowing JA or JP, my name would be happybunny because I’d be trailer hopping like crazy.
Spoilers: 2x2 - Everybody Loves A Clown. Vague ones for 2x6 - No Exit and 2x14 - Born Under A Bad Sign.
Summary: See quote below.
Notes: For
sierra_foxx’s birthday. I was going to go with my usual pairing (Linc/Jane) but I said to myself, “Self, you need to write some Dean fic.” So here goes. I don’t know if you like this pairing. Blame my muse if you don’t. Totally her idea.
The first time he sees her again he thinks Maybe.
She’s older, about twenty-five. Hair a little longer. Body a little fuller. Eyes still a soft brown.
When she finally turns, sees him, she looks happy – bright eyes and a welcoming smile.
He breathes a little easier.
He thinks Fresh start.
It really should’ve been easy with Jo. There was something, way back when, a hint of what could be even if she was too young, too naive. Not his usual type. But she understood his life, if only a little bit, even wanted it for herself.
Bad timing and, as it turned out, too much history that had nothing to do with him.
This place, this roadhouse, is her and her husband’s. A nice guy. Blonde like her but with blue eyes. Ted. The kid of a hunter. He didn’t want that life but couldn’t leave it behind either. Jo nods, smiles when he says it.
Ted loves her. Dean can tell.
He thinks Lucky her, lucky him.

DEAN: Yeah. So. I guess I've got fifty one hours to waste. Maybe tonight we should, uh...
No, you know what? Never mind.
JO: What?
DEAN: Nothing, just, uh, wrong place, wrong time
- Everybody Loves A Clown
